Should Charlie Be Banned from HungDevils?

This question came up in a conversation with someone earlier today (I cannot reveal who) and I thought I would put this before our board here: Should Charlie be banned from HungDevils, as Vicki and I have been banned?

The obvious answer to this query is a resounding yes, my friends. In fact, the only question now should be: why hasn't Charlie been banned from www.hungdevils.com already? They are slacking over there...who knows why.

Here are the following reasons why Charlie should be banned from hungdevils:

1. He is a moderator on this board.

2. Charlie has over 1000 posts on this board. I'm not sure how many posts he's had on HD since this board got up and running, but I'd be willing to bet that it's not even close to 1000.

3. He has recruited many, many members from HD to this board. Thanks for that, Charlie!

4. Charlie is a master underminer if I ever saw one. As I have experience in undermining, I am qualified to make this statement.

5. He is the greatest threat to the bottom line of the current owner of HD.

Anyway...please cast your vote and let us know why you voted the way you did.

Forum Announcement: Change in The Chicken Cage

This will not affect 95% of us who post here, but I wanted to go ahead and give a heads-up, so that there's no confusion.

Until further notice, anyone who posts in The Chicken Cage will have to do so under a registered handle on this board. This should cut down on all the phantom Fruitypants McGargles, which have been giving us such a problem here lately. Also, this change should slightly help us in the members online per day number.

So it is written, so it is done!

People are making a pretty big deal about a Florida church's plan to burn copies of the koran on the 9/11 anniversary. The criticism is to be expected. Condemnations of the church, its members, and its pastor Terry Jones include the usual words racists, bigots, hatemongers, and so forth. Even General Petraeus has weighed in suggesting that this move would endanger our troops in Afghanistan.

I find this recent issue interesting due to the recent uproar regarding the planned mosque located close to Ground Zero. Critics of the mosque feel it is disrespectful to the victims and displays insensitivity. Naturally supporters of the mosque label those who oppose it as bigots and racists and remind us all about the right to religious freedom and so forth.

But what I see is a double standard here.

Is the Dove World Outreach Center's plan to burn the koran a bad move?

Of course it is.

Is it a stupid thing to do?

Most likely.

Do they have a right to do it?

Of course they do.

Just as the mosque planners have a right to plant their mosque near Ground Zero so too does this church have a right to burn the koran. Remember, in America you can even burn your nation's flag. In America the right to free speech is more sacred than anything biblical in the eyes of some. In America you can say and do anything you please in the name of free speech. Even when it is stupid, offensive, hurtful or the like.

Now I need some perspective to wrap my mind around this. The left thinks it's perfectly moral to plant that mosque near Ground Zero because "it is their right." It's alright to disregard the victims and insult their survivors because it is their right to do so. But it is wrong to oppose the mosque and condemn it. You are a racist if you do not support all things Islamic in America. And so this Florida church is a nest of evil racists.

Strange that it is called racism when the cause of the conflict isn't race but religion. Strange that the only racists and bigots are to be on one side while the other side are pristine angels.

No, I need a little perspective to understand this mess. While I think it is a bad idea to burn the koran I find myself unwilling to condemn this church. I wonder why. Maybe I'm a bigoted Islamaphobe. No. Maybe it's because I see bullshit on both sides here.

I see a religion which can't get its image right. On one hand we Americans are told that Islam is a religion of peace. It's a good religion full of wonderful people. On the other hand we don't get to see much of that now do we? The media never shows us anything. These good Muslims don't really go out of their way to show us. But what we do get to see makes me wonder.

Infidels are not allowed to enter Mecca. Boy, sure sounds like some kind of bigoted discrimination to me. We all have seen many images over the decades of effigies of American leaders being burned, the occasional bible, and we have seen loads of American flags being set on fire by people in Islamic nations. For decades certain Islamic nations have called America "The Great Satan." And then there is the inconvenient truth that there actually are some radical-Islamic terrorists who have killed Americans.

In my lifetime one thing I've come to see is that Islam is full of intolerant people. They're no different than Christians in that regard. I've come to see Islam is full of the same bullshit American society is full of. It, like America, has lefties and righties, hypocrites, sinners and saints. There's some good and some bad just like here at home in America.

But nobody gets their panties in a bunch when a gang of Muslims in some huge crowd in some city in some Muslim nation lights an American flag on fire. The people who condemn those who oppose the mosque, or plan to burn the koran don't condemn the Muslims for the shit they do. Right now in Iran a woman is facing death by stoning for adultery. But those bitching about Islamophobes in America aren't bitching about that.

So for me the perspective is this: why begrudge one small Christian fringe church their right to free expression and burning the koran? Especially when those who'd denounce this move conveniently ignore or remain silent about the hate and ignorance some in the Islamic world routinely throw about? I say let them burn it, it might be a stupid thing to do but it's their right to be stupid. This is America. We have a right to be ignorant and hateful as well as being hypocrites applying double standards.

Teen accidentally texts sheriff to buy pot

HELENA, Mont. — General rule of thumb: when looking to buy marijuana, don't text the sheriff. Authorities said a Helena teen sent out a text message last week in search of pot, but instead of contacting the drug dealer, he hit a wrong number and inadvertently sent the message to Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton.

The text read, "Hey Dawg, do you have a $20 I can buy right now?"

Dutton told the Helena Independent Record he initially thought it was a joke, but he quickly realized it was a real request for drugs. He responded to the text, and a detective pretending to be the dealer organized a meeting with the boy last Wednesday.

The detective spotted two teenage boys and a man at the arranged meeting spot and called the number three times to make sure he had the right person. Dutton said when the detective showed the teens his badge, their faces turned white and their knees began to wobble. One of the boys even fainted.

The man in the group turned out to be the father of one of the teens, and no citations were issued after the parents of both boys got involved.

"Trying to buy drugs is a crime, but it's probably worse that they had to face their parents," Dutton said.

What are the odds of that happening (the wrong number you accidentally dial being that of the sheriff)? The kid fainting is too funny. It was cool of the Sheriff to go old school and let the parents handle the issue, rather than issue any citations.

Medal of Honor pulled from US military stores

After widespread criticism of the game, the US military has decided not to sell Medal of Honor at its military base exchanges, and GameStop has also said it won't stock it.

While there's no ban on members of the military owning or playing the game, they won't be able to buy it at military bases, as the Army & Air Force Exchange Service, along with the Coast Guard Community Services Command, have said they won't allow sales of the game at any of their 181 exchanges or on the online site.

GameStop has also agreed not to stock the game at its 49 stores on domestic bases. Speaking for both organizations, AAFES spokesman Judd Anstey told ABC News: "We don't really consider this to be a ban in any way. It's just one title we have passed on."

"We regret any inconvenience this may cause authorised shoppers, but are optimistic that they will understand the sensitivity to the life and death scenarios this product presents as entertainment," added major general Bruce Casella, commander of the AAFES.

The latest version of the game, due out in October, allows players to take on the role of Taliban fighters. Apparently this is much, much worse than allowing them to be, for example, Nazi stormtroopers or terrorists.

In the UK, the British defence secretary Sir Liam Fox called for the game to be banned, saying he was 'disgusted and angry' and calling the game 'un-British' (well, yes) and 'tasteless'.

But the game's creators at Electronic Arts find themselves a little bewildered by the outcry. President Frank Gibeau has compared the game to movies and books set in Afghanistan, which face no such criticisms.

For my 1000th post here on the new board, I wanted to do something special for you guys. So, here is a photoset I did with the one and only Vaniity. The mask was Vaniity's idea; she knew I was big into the luchadure-style wrestling. Do you even know how difficult it was to make out with her while wearing that damn thing?

Theres alot of great movies in this world, with great endings.
For me Clint Eastwoods Unforgiven has to be one of the greatest movie endings,
The way the story line kept building in intensity till he finely blew a gasket.
The way they did the thunder and lightning,It almost had a horror movie feel to that ending
which makes it one of my all time favorite Clint movies.

Any man that dont want to be killed better head out back,,LOL

I was lucky in the order,But ive always been lucky killing people.
You got to love Clint.

Lightspeed, Grooby File Suits Against Hundreds of Bit Torrent Users

CHICAGO — Lightspeed Media Corp., Grooby Productions and Hard Drive Productions each filed copyright infringement suits on Thursday, targeting bit torrent users who allegedly downloaded their works.
The trio of federal lawsuits, all filed by Chicago attorney John Steele, name hundreds of unnamed surfers who may have downloaded a rainbow assortment of films, from solo girl to tranny content, within the past two weeks.

Lightspeed Media, for example, says its JordanCapri and Tawnee Stone website content has been poached.

Solo-girl site AmateurAllure.com, owned by Hard Drive Productions, meanwhile, says it was a victim, while Grooby Productions' parent company Millennium TGA complains that its collections relating to its Shemale Yum, Shemales From Hell and Shemale Pornstar website properties were also breached by bit torrent users.

The three companies now join a handful of other adult companies that have pledged to stomp out piracy. Adult studios Titan Media, Corbin Fisher and Michael Lucas Productions each have recently filed suits targeting swarms of John Doe bit torrent users.

In all of the legal cases, the companies have asked for motions to discover the identities of the defendants through their Internet service providers.

Steele, who filed the suits on behalf of the companies, was unavailable at post time to respond to XBIZ questions, but the attorney operates Media Copyright Group, which offers "turnkey solution for combating online piracy of their copyrighted media."

Steele, according to his legal service company's website, offers to track and ID infringers, as well as pursue damages against infringers on a contingency basis.

Gill Sperlein, general counsel for Titan Media, told XBIZ that he applauded the trio of suits filed Thursday against online thieves.

"There many different ways people infringe adult content," he said. "However, content producers have recently started working together to stop infringement in all of its forms."

Craigslist Adult Services Ads Down

Link.

Quote

Embattled online classified service Craigslist apparently made a change to its website early Saturday, censoring its adult services section.

The section that usually reads "adult services" was replaced by the word "censored."

It was not immediately clear whether Craigslist removed the adult services and replaced them with the "censored" section that had a link that was not active. But for users who accessed the account outside the U.S., the erotic services link was still active.

Craigslist representatives were not immediately available for comment.

The website has been under fire for allegations that it promotes prostitution.

Last week, attorneys general in 17 states banded together to urge Craigslist to discontinue its adult services.

"The increasingly sharp public criticism of Craigslist's Adult Services section reflects a growing recognition that ads for prostitution -- including ads trafficking children -- are rampant on it," the attorneys general said in a Tuesday letter to Craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster and Founder Craig Newmark.

A Craigslist spokeswoman said at the time that the site agreed with at least some of the letter.

"We strongly support the attorneys general desire to end trafficking in children and women, through the Internet or by any other means," said Susan MacTavish Best, who handles press inquiries for Craigslist.

"We hope to work closely with them, as we are with experts at nonprofits and in law enforcement, to prevent misuse of our site in facilitation of trafficking, and to combat such crimes wherever they appear, online or offline."

In their letter, the attorneys general highlighted an open letter, which appeared as a Washington Post ad, in which two girls said they were sold for sex on Craigslist.

When the ad came out, Buckmaster wrote a blog post in response that said, "Craigslist is anxious to know that the perpetrators in these girls' cases are behind bars."

The letter also highlighted a report in May by CNN's Amber Lyon, who posted a fake ad for a girl's services in the adult section. She received 15 calls soliciting sex in three hours.

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, who in recent years has been pushing for Craigslist to clean up its adult section and spearheaded the letter from the attorneys general, said the group was trying to reach Craigslist representatives to figure out the recent change to the website.

Earlier this month, Lyon interviewed a woman named "Jessica" who sells sex on Craigslist. The woman said a Craigslist ad was "the fastest, quickest way you're for sure going to see somebody that day."

In a later blog, Buckmaster said Craigslist implemented manual screening of adult services ads in May 2009.

"Since that time, before being posted each individual ad is reviewed by an attorney."

He said the attorneys are trained to enforce Craigslist's posting guidelines, "which are stricter than those typically used by yellow pages, newspapers, or any other company that we are aware of."

Attorneys general from Arkansas, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia made the request a week after accused "Craigslist killer" Philip Markoff committed suicide in jail.

Markoff was charged with the April 2009 killing of Julissa Brisman. Boston Police said that Brisman, a model, advertised as a masseuse on Craigslist, and Markoff might have met her through the website.

In 2008, under pressure from state prosecutors, the website raised the fees for posting adult services ads. In 2009, it started donating portions of the money generated by adult ads to charity.

A CNN investigation of Craigslist's adult services section, which replaced "erotic services ads" two years ago, counted more than 7,000 ads in a single day.

Many offered thinly veiled "services" for anything from $50 for a half-hour to $400 an hour.

Can't say that I'm surprised at this. Anyway, the seventeen states whose AG's demanded the removal of the sex ads:

Arkansas, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Machete!

I caught the 10:45 PM showing of Robert Rodriguez's Machete last night and had a blast. If you've seen (and liked) the trailer, then you'll love the movie, too.

It was Mexploitation at its finest. From what I read, they built a story around the fake trailer that appeared with Grindhouse 3 years ago. Danny Trejo plays an ex-Federale, who's hired to assassinate a Texas state senator, played by Robert De Niro. However, there's a double cross and Machete spends the rest of the movie being pursued by the bad guys, just as he hunts them down.

I loved the cast. A lot of Rodriguez's favorites are here: Trejo, Cheech Marin, Jeff Fahey, Tom Savini and Daryl Sabara from Spy Kids. Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez were great eye candy here. Michelle has never looked hotter. Lindsay Lohan spent much of the movie drunk, drugged or passed out. Steven Seagal was Torrez, a drug lord and the movie's primary villain. My God, he has gotten fat.

Anyway, this movie had everything- explosions, gore, boobies, stabbings, decapitations, a crucifixion, great music and lots of laughs. It's certainly not for everyone, but I enjoyed the hell out of this and want to see it again.

Dino, you will love this movie. I think it was made for you, man.
